January 2024 marks five years since my first book, The Color of Compromise, was published.

In January 2019 when the book came out, I could not have imaged the response it would garner.

Thanks to you, the readers, it became a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller. It has made its way into college and seminary courses, church small groups, and national news outlets.

More people than I can recount have approached me in-person or online to tell me how much the book shifted their perspective on race, the church, and history.

Now it’s time to celebrate.

I’m hosting a live event to celebrate the five year anniversary of The Color of Compromise, and I’m inviting you!

What: The Color of Compromise: A Celebration of Historical Truth-Telling

There will be light hors d’oeuvres, live musical selections, a talk by me on the state of historical truth-telling, a live Q&A with the audience. There will also be vendors like The Witness and Justice Takes Sides there.

After all of that comes the even more fun part…I’ll do a cover reveal of my forthcoming book The Spirit of Justice!!!
