The post below is about launching our next podcast series. Producing these is so much fun, and so many of you have appreciated them. But they cost money! Please help support by becoming a paid subcsriber today.
It’s March 1, so Black History Month has technically ended. But has it really, though?
After all, the Black Freedom Struggle continues. The fight against racism continues.
The question is: Are you going to continue the journey toward racial justice or leave it in the past?
If you don’t believe we should stop thinking about racial justice just because it’s not February any more. If you believe that the spirit of Black History Month is not only about learning the past but pursuing a better present and future. If you are ready to live into the legacy of liberation, then we need your voice.
Today I am announcing the official call for submissions for our next podcast series. It’s called “Fighting Racism” and we want to hear from you!
A couple of months ago, I asked you, “What should my next podcast series be?”
You submitted dozens of great suggestions, but there was a central theme to many of them.
You wanted to hear what everyday folks are doing to fight racism.
This isn’t about the people like me who write the books, speak at the events, and do this for a living. This is about YOU!
People who have day jobs, go to school, raise families, and make the tough day-to-day decisions to pursue racial justice.
We want to hear what you’re doing to fight racism right where you are and with whatever tools you’ve got.
Don’t feel like you have to be an expert or have years of experience. We are all figuring this out as we go, and your challenges and triumphs will inspire others to take action.
All you have to do is fill out this very short online form. If your story sounds like a good fit, we’ll contact you for more details. You and your work could be featured on our next podcast series!
I’d especially to hear from you if you’ve read my book How to Fight Racism and are using the ARC of Racial Justice in some way.
And one more thing…for the first time ever, I’m partnering with another organization for this podcast series.
The Religion News Service is coming alongside this Fighting Racism podcast series and doing written profiles of the people we feature. This will be a tremendous way to spread the word about your work and the community you are serving.
But we’re only accepting submissions for one week—until March 7. So get your submission in ASAP!
Feel free to send this message or the link to this online form to anyone in your network.
Thanks, and I can hardly wait for this Fighting Racism series to come together!
