🚨Coming Soon! New "Fighting Racism" Series
The series starts this week. You won't want to miss it!
Producing a series like this isn’t free. Money goes to production costs, graphics, equipment, and more. Most expensive of all is the time it takes to create a project like this. Your support makes it possible. Please become a paid subscriber today!
Fighting racism seems so complex and overwhelming. To even think about taking action on an issue that touches every part of our social fabric can be paralyzing.
What area should you focus on? How do you not make the problems worse? Who can you trust to help you? How do you know if you’re ready? And what can one person actually do to make a difference?
If you ever wondered how you can meaningfully get involved in racial justice, then this series is for you.
The “Fighting Racism” series brings together stories of real people working right where they are to promote racial justice.
We conducted a “call for submissions” and read through dozens of inspiring stories about people who felt compelled to take action against racism in various ways.
We narrowed those submissions down to a handful of people whose work is representative of what it looks like and what is required to fight racism today.
Our guests work at the grassroots level in their own communities to effect change. They do not do racial justice work for a living, but they have created ways to promote racial progress as a regular way of life.
Each of our guests professes belief in the Christian God and views faith as the driver of their work. They demonstrate that Christians are still involved in the labor of building the beloved community and that people of faith are still central to the struggle for racial justice.
This multi-part series will be in audio and video podcast form. We are also partnering with the Religion News Service—the premier national media outlet exclusively devoted to religion reporting—and their team will feature written profiles of each our guests.
The name and the spirit of the series come from my second book, How to Fight Racism, and its content provides the context for what we’ll discuss.
This will be a six-part series and the first episode—an introduction from me that frames the upcoming interviews—drops this week. New episodes release weekly.
Episodes include the following:
Confronting Racism in Homeschooling
How White Allies Can Talk to Other White People about Racism
Giving the Formerly Incarcerated a Chance at True Freedom
Racial Justice at Work and in the Environment
Addressing Racial and Religious Trauma through Mental Health Care
