Sometimes in life you get the honor of witnessing important events firsthand and saying many years later, “I was there.”
I have the honor of saying “I was there” when Ekemini, Christina, and Michelle began dreaming of the podcast that became “Truth’s Table.”
I saw how the idea coalesced and then very quickly took off. They light-heartedly call themselves “church mothers in training” but the wisdom and truth they share every week is no joke.
I have seen their dedicated labor to build a table “by and for Black women.” They have remained true to their mission, their audience, and their faith this whole time.
Now they have yet more to give in their first book, Truth’s Table: Black Women’s Musings on Life, Love, and Liberation.
Each of the ladies contributes several chapters. If you’ve been listener to their show, you can almost audibly hear their podcast voices coming through (and, yes, there’s an audiobook read by the authors!).
Every page flows with faith and insights. The table of contents below gives you a snapshot of the content. As you can see, they bravely address even the most controversial and sensitive topics.
Here’s my endorsement of the book. Stay tuned for our Pass The Mic interview with Dr. Christina and Ekemini as well!
As always, PREORDER the book. This really helps with sales and buzz. So if you’re interested in supporting Black women and reading arresting non-fiction—BUY NOW!!!
Yes. I do plan to buy this book. And will listen to the podcast.
