I write a political column for a small weekly newspaper in a small bright red rural Texas county. I feel fortunate that the editor supports a balanced op-ed page, so every week either I or my two colleagues offer an alternate opinion to the 80% Republican population here. My topic for next week is going to be the threat of christian nationalism that lies behind the antics of our current President. Thank you for providing so many valuable facts that I can draw upon for my column. My working title is “Trump Is Just the Tip of the Iceberg”. One item of note regarding Douglas Wilson. He is a Christian Reconstructionist. (Although he denies that he is Christian Reconstructionist, what he proposes is essentially the same, but he calls it “Mere Christendom” I believe.) This comes from Rousas Rushdoony and is Reformed (as you know :)
The Seven Mountain Mandate is part of the Christian Nationalist movement called New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and is big in the charismatic and Pentecostal sphere. (NAR started with the theology of Peter Wagner.)
The way I understand it, both are forms of dominionism with Christian Reconstructionism being an older system.
