He was so inspiring! I was moved to tears at some points, and thrilled to see his Senate colleagues helping out with "questions". And he gave me the words for a sign for Saturday's protest: "You can't lead the people if you don't love the people". Perfect!!

Peg, I have been looking for what to put on my sign for Saturday in NYC's Bryant Park ... ty for this ! May we all be stunned with how many turn out, like we are stunned at the poetic justice of Senator Booker's 25 hour marathon of truth telling!

Thank you Sen Booker. You literally “offer(ed) your bod(y) as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." Romans 12:1. You stood for all Americans, for the best of who we can be.

It really does feel like a sacrificial act, doesn’t it??

Such an amazing and inspiring accomplishment. A seminal moment. And I agree with Peg Bowman about the help colleagues gave to him. I was able to hear my own senator, Patty Murray, speak to why she had such a heart for veteran issues. That was inspiring, too. Cory Booke has given us an important rallying point. Bless him!

What a stunning 25 hours plus, and I was only able to really tune in for the last 2and 1/2 hours! My hubby felt a little impatient, but he hung in there. We were 12 when Strom Thurmond was holding forth and we weren't paying attention. But since the 60's we've been engaged politically and have grown in our engagement. That means reading and appreciating the truly complicated history of this nation. There were several parts of his speech that continue to ring: what he said about the great John Lewis; his reading of stories from constituents, his words about freedom, the constitution, the Declaration being alive in the heart. We are in a huge struggle now. It has been coming for years. It is not left or right. It is moral...to do that which is right or to choose to do wrong. It is very clear.

Inspiring words, Linda! So sobering to know that you were alive when Thurmond did his thing. The past is not so long ago.

Cory Booker leads with Love. He always has- and now hopefully more people will get the message he is bringing to each of us. Can we be brave? Can we do the loving thing?

Senator Booker is bringing light to this dark time.

Hallelujah! How much we needed this example & inspiration by Senator Booker. And he looked as fresh when he ended as when he started. Surely that was a display of the Lord's supernatural strength motivating and equipping him. Ty Jemar for highlighting this ...

"The arc of history doesn’t bend on its own. Sometimes, it takes 25 hours and four minutes of standing up to make it move." I love this - yes and amen! I felt so inspired, encouraged, heard, and fought for today. I haven't seen or felt that much lately from my own state leadership. I am grateful for the leadership, strength, and courage shown by Senator Booker. And his brilliance throughout was remarkable – I would not have anywhere near the mental fortitude to continue as powerfully or clearly as he did for those 25 hours.

I've been astounded, frankly, that so little attention has been given to Booker's feat, and not just the length of it. That's true of the media outlets that tend to concentrate more in- depth on some of these issues, as well (at least on the *national* level), anything more than a passing mention. That's true even granted that important elections and economic news have been occurring. I am hoping and praying that with the Hands Off rallies, there might actually be some dots connected. I'm encouraged that some things are starting to change on the state and national levels, and praying it continues!

Very proud of Senator Booker. He knew he wouldn’t be heard by those who oppose him and inclusion, but he spoke the truth to power! We all need to do the same. Shalom.

My daughter and I stood and applauded him when he ended. A man of faith and deep convictions about justice, Sen. Cory Booker did my home state of NJ proud! He also spoke for the majority of Americans.

What an amazing proclamation of love and act of commitment to democracy! I loved his words about his faith and the prayers he and many made as he went into this marathon. I’m giving your Justice books to my grandchildren for Easter. I think I will add Sen. Booker’s name in the back of those books and encourage them to look up what he did on April 1, 2025 for the cause of justice and democracy.
