I hope that the receipts in history, of wondering what could've been, won't be characteristic for 2025. Instead, I hope we resist the dismantling of pluralistic democracy. And I think of Dr. Timothy Snyder's book, "On Freedom," for "positive freedom" and "freedom to"....
Just listening to Karen Attiah's 'Trump's segregationist agenda is a reaction to Obama', not saying DEI but re-segregation. Her statement: '... I believe that what is happening is an attempt to destroy all the pipelines for Black influence and advancement at the federal level, the corporate level, and at the academic level, so that a Black leader will never rise to rule white people ever again, whether it's in the workplace or the White House. ...' Brutal truth, or?
Way back in my undergraduate years, my professor of historiography repeated this. But he used the idea of a "feed-back-loop" (another antique analogy) to show historical similarities, but with the concept of change over time.
