Idolaters need idols to solve the problems only God can solve.

Yes. And the challenge is getting Christian Nationalists to even see that what they're practicing is idolatry. Keep telling the truth!

The challenge is real. Ps115:8 Those who make them will be like them,

and so will all who trust in them.

9All you Israelites, trust in the Lord—

he is their help and shield.

10House of Aaron, trust in the Lord—

he is their help and shield.

11You who fear him, trust in the Lord—

he is their help and shield.

Cart before the horse. How about we just focus on being Christian people and then let the country be defined from there? Not the other way around. If America were to be a Christian nation, that would have to happen from the bottom up, not the top down. And unfortunately, Christian nationalism is way too closely linked to white nationalism.

I like that. Thank you. >🙏🏿🙏🙏🏻🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏿<

...focus on being Christian people...

What does “being Christian” mean to you? Or does that matter if it differs from what it means to me? To other?

An old Jewish saying goes... if you have 7 Jews in a room, you’ll have 8 opinions... on any topic. Sadly: The same is true in all of humanity... especially us Christians.

Jemar, thank you for keeping me awake. I have tried to explain this to my white Christian friends, but the result seems to estrange rather than reconcile. God's Prophet, The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther, JR, prophesied that "We are an arrogant nation and unless we humble ourselves before God we will be ruled by a godless nation." I am afraid this will come true. Please keep me Awake. Jack

Unfortunately, I have seen divisions within the church widen. The truth cuts and separates. But perhaps it is a separation, a pruning, a sifting that is required for the health of the church.

I like your honesty... your vulnerability to us, a nation. & us, followers of Jesus...

Me to... a Euro-American... How do we reconcile this? The truth is that there are parts of the body on both sides... it is also sadly true there are body parts spewed all over the place...

If there any time... it is still the same... like all seasons... change comes by spirit... and there is enough blaming of more use of might and power than spirit... it is hard to wait... it takes faith... and we live in a material world abundant in other than God’s spirit of Holy Spirit love ❤️💚💙💫

Let’s pray 🤲🏿-🤲-🤲🏻-🤲🏼-🤲🏽-🤲🏾-🤲🏿 we can more meet under the feet of Jesus and when perfection comes... God’s love beginning to flow like never before from us... to 1 Cor 13 love for each other...

Tall order... but isn’t this the same Jesus that raised the dead for his friend he weeped over? and walked on water to reach the friends he loved? And that he commanded to love one another... like he had been shown his love for them for 3 years?

If this is the same Jesus... then he can do this... this impossible that was designed, even planned... planned all along.

Perfect? Come!

❤️💚💙💫

Dear Jamar, Thank you for your work. I feel encouraged to share a few paragraphs of a paper I am writing to reflect on my life as an American. I am a white woman, age 74, and have no writing experience since high school but I feel compelled to share this with you. This is my opinion of Christian Nationalism.

"Christianity is, referred to as the Body of Christ. It is not a particular denomination, all WHO believe in Christ alone for salvation through His virgin birth, life, death on the cross to bear our sins as God’s only provision to give us eternal life before Him in heaven; Christ’s resurrection and His coming again for those that call Him Savior - they are the Christian Church.

The Christian Church is where we go to be with like-minded believers of the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, Three yet One. We go to church to enjoy in unison the love, forgiveness, and redemption of God, to be revived in His solace and fellowship with other believers to pursue the Holiness of God. It also should be the best place in the world to go for understanding, and compassion for people in trouble and sorrow. The Christian Church should never be a war zone for the self-righteous nor a place of political debate. Personal matters are worked out in pricked consciences, and they are God’s job and our duty. Our job as Christians is to put service to God first, to be diligent in pursuing His loving actions and put them in motion for others. The duty of Christians is to call what is immoral sin, which is what it is, and to be truthful in adherence to be mindful of what is decent. We are to be examples of righteous living and to disagree with debauchery.

Christianity is not inclusive of all other religious ideologies. If a person chooses not to believe in God, so be it. Religion is not in any way government. Think of Hitler commandeering the Christian church for his Arian vision and even worse, the “Christian Churches” claiming to be “Christian” allowing Hitler’s HERESY to enter their doors.

Christianity and religion are not politics nor are they in need of monetary assistance from the Government; nor the Government to be a dictator to religious belief. I am an avid supporter of the Separation of Church and State. A friend of mine recently told me this adage “God listens to people not political agendas; the government is not beholden to the Church.”

I am appalled that some American government officials and anyone that call themselves “Christian” would even suggest a new political party and call it “Christian Nationalism” THAT WOULD BE YET ANOTHER HERESY OF CHRISTIANITY and maybe even BECOME THE PLUG that would empty us of life in Democracy. "

To reply to Steve Wilson, the result of bowing to the false god of power is exhilaration. Are skyscrapers one of the idols?

Expand full comment

Jack, it may be that exhilaration is a fruit of that bowing down. The OT caution of bowing to false gods resulting in God's anger might lead to exhilaration in that worshipper, I suppose.
