I’ve been holding back about the election.
I have been speaking honestly, but I have a lot more to say.
I am concerned that we are not prepared for what’s coming and is already here with the 2024 presidential election.
We need to talk about election day itself and what to expect, including violence.
We need to talk about what happens after election day.
We need to be ready for any kind of outcome, especially one that threatens democracy itself and the time-honored tradition of the peaceful transfer of power in the United States.
I know you feel this, too.
I know you are worried.
But you are not alone.
You have the chance to join with like-minded people of faith who are committed to democracy.
I’m hosting an online gathering called “Preparing Our Souls for the Election.” I want you to join us.
I originally planned this only for paid subscribers, but it’s too important. I want anyone to be able to hear this information.1
It’s Tuesday, October 22 at 8 pm ET online. It’s totally free.
No registration required.
All you have to do is sign up for this Footnotes Substack, and I’ll email you the link.
I’ll see you there.
Faith and Democracy Tour
I also wanted to let you know that I’ll be in Tempe, Arizona this Sunday for the Faith and Democracy rally hosted by the Convocation Unscripted podcast. This is a live, in-person event. Please spread the word with folks in the area!
Only paid subscribers will have access to the recording after the gathering.
Thank you for this offering. It's truly needed! 🙏🏽
Appreciate you naming our fears...
