Thank you for standing strong. I wept through so much of this talk. I share “Color of Compromise” with people in my church and invite the for coffee and to talk. I know understand what is meant by white fragility. Instead of leaning in and learning and freeing Christ to work through us, they pull back, reject and resist.

You are making good trouble. The haters are so afraid of rational reasoning and speaking truth to power. The fight for reason is in. Soldier in.

I would love to be present at a meeting with you some of the far right Christians. I would love to watch you all go through whatever portions of your books, articles, speeches, etc line by line. I would then love to hear what they say is “Marxist, critical race theorist (as a pejorative), Communist, “woke,” and someone who “indoctrinates” people with lies and harmful teachings.” This is something I would be so excited for. Of course, I would also love to be able to add my 2 cents to that conversation.

I was outraged when I heard about the unjust firing of Professor Janet Moore. Jamar Tisby is a prophet in my mind, speaking Godly truth. My first action was to contribute to Janet Moore’s go fund me acct. My second was to become a paid subscriber to Jemar’s sub stack. We can support these important voices that fear is trying to shut down.

As a white woman who is privileged with resources, loving family support and health, the biggest obstacle for me in following God in the anti racism work He guides me in has been the fear and sometimes reality of losing approval and being misunderstood in my community - in my faith community and by my own extended family.

But, my God reminds me EVERY time I look at Him that He calls me to love Him and love ALL others truly - like truly love all others and that that is a different thing than loving / needing others approval and understanding.

And it is choosing to obey Him in what this love requires in spite of my fears of what others may think that has brought me closer to Jesus than I ever knew possible. 😭🙏

So just to encourage others who may be in similar situations like me- you don’t have to love anyone or people group less to stand up for justice and say hard truths so we can work for change.... it requires MORE LOVE - more love for God, more love for others, more love for ourselves, and more love for those who would misunderstand or even hate you- more love for everyone is the only way forward.
