Personally, I’ve noticed the differences—in my seeking to process racism, color blindness, white Christian nationalism,& their impact on my relationships within Christian circles—based on the therapist’s heritage & depth of processing their own heritage & way of being. I’m especially grateful for Black therapists. So glad to learn about opportunities for more becoming licensed Black therapists!

Seeing an Asian American therapist has brought immense healing to me as I have been working through church racism and associated trauma. The understanding is far better than from a white or Asian-recent immigrant therapist.

Church racism.... soooo sorry.

My Mom and I left a church fellowship (after 37 years) for that very reason. The unwillingness to repent of racism in the fellowship.... let alone God's call for godly sorrow. No thanks.
