I have been aware of Praeger for a while, but did not know it was moving into the White House. This is very disturbing and thank you for sharing. This kind of indoctrination is frightening. It is a modern version of the books I bought in Berlin after the wall fell, which are pure indoctrination and not facts.

Re-writing or burying real history us reprehensible. It is especially true when it comes to kids since they have to be the curious sort to be willing to challenge what they are being taught or willing to un-learn what they were taught when they become adults. As a lifelong learner, I have unearned a lot!

Thank you for sharing this important news. Un-enlightment education masquerading as celebration of our history aids destruction of democracy.

A relative of mine with Christian Nationalist leanings has mentioned books to me about how racism related to Native Americans really wasn’t bad. I admit I tuned her out as my emotions began to flood, but clearly there are more sources of misinformation than Prager making the rounds.

Speaking of family, I am a descendant of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Stone. While it’s exciting to be related to a historical figure, I also feel the weight of his being an enslaver. We can’t just sweep the truth under the rug when it’s unpleasant. Some want to say he was a product of his time, but that doesn’t erase the evil of practicing slavery.

That knowledge informs my choice to stand for justice, to support Black-led organizations and Black-owned businesses. I was doing this before I knew about my ancestor, but now I feel a responsibility to work to make things right knowing that my family was part of the wrong.

Unbelievable. Yet, believable. And despicable. The fascist propaganda is in full force now. The damage this is doing is horrific. The speed at which this takeover is happening, thanks to what Harris rightly called the "fecklessness" and complicity in Congress is appalling, too. Now they're on to gerrymandering wherever they can because they know their policies are so unpopular. I was never prepared for fascism in the U.S. :-( Thanks for all you do to educate us, Jemar.

This crowd must be connected to Hillsdale University. Maybe naming names of these "institutions ", their leadership, boards, funders, where the money comes from...horrifyied does not describe the depth of my feeling about this stream of anti-democracy/white supremacist often "christian" nationalism. Totally opposed to the Idea that is inherent in this nation.

I find it ironic that in the prayer quote he mentioned "shared history". How is it shared if they are always diminishing or erasing the history of non-white Americans? It is a travesty to have the propaganda presented as historical fact to the nation.

Dennis Praeger has gotten more and more obnoxious thro the past years. This is not good. Sign of the times. Right wing “entertainment” is reality.

My $0.02:The PragerU treatment of various eras in or history is troublesome. Took a look at their presentation on the election of Polk and Manifest Destiny. While Polk expanded our borders and was a face of manifest destiny, Prager ignores what it led to: further cultural and actual genocide and displacement of the continent's original peoples as well as the spread of slavery and the divisive arguments over where slavery would be allowed. The national discourse/argument was one of the factors that led to the Civil War something PragerU ignores.

Their message reflects the whitewashing, rah,rah triumphant white American man version of history being promoted by Christian nationalists, MAGA, rep. education superintendents. By PU presenting itself as a "University", they lend a false sense of authenticity, authority and truth to their skewed history. How can they all look around at our diverse nation and say we all did not have a hand in shaping what was once a good country?

Thank you, another important post. I have watched with dismay Praeger for years, but had no clue that he is being brought into the White House. Never could have dreamed the upcoming anniversary of the USA would be so rife with propaganda. Dennis Praeger has perfected that art for a long time now.
