great discussion. Particularly: "when it comes down to [choice between] demoracy and power, Christian nationalism is going to choose power every time." Very true. I would add that the danger lies in the degree to which these themes are being weaponized and used in political propaganda and campaigns (e.g. GOP governors Youngkin, DeSantis) to gain control of state governments and then pass laws that further spread anti-CRT propaganda message, and affect state policies and public education curricula. Which ironically proves a crucial part of actual critical race theory-- that inequalities and social biases can become embedded in laws and policies, and can become part of a broader structure of discrimination that exists separate and apart from the force of the collective effect of individuals' racial biases.
